LUFC News: Leeds United are set to renew the contracts of star-trio

Leeds United News: Leeds United are set to hold talks with Jack Clarke, Kalvin Phillips and Kemar Roofe, regarding their contract extensions, reports Football Insider.

All these players have played a huge part in the Whites’ promotion push this season.

Phillips, 23, has been the work horse for Marcelo Bielsa this season, playing over 40 games across all competitions.

Mainly deployed as a pivot in midfield, the English youngster has scored some crucial goals, which has helped the Whites pick up some narrow wins.

For instance, his injury-time goal against Middlesbrough in February, which helped his side avoidd defeat.

Roofe was Bielsa’s main striker before he got injured, midway through the season.

He has scored 14 goals and set up two more, becoming Leeds’ top goal scorer.

The former Oxford United player signed for the Elland Road club on a four-year deal in 2016.

The 19-year-old is also having a decent season for the Whites.

Having touted to be the next big thing in England, the English winger has showcased his talent on multiple occasions, bagging two goals and two assists for Leeds in this campaign.

LUFC are in pole position to secure automatic position to the Premier League, with only four games still to play.

The Argentine manager in his first season at Elland Road is looking to lead his side to England’s top flight after almost a decade.

Leeds are trailing Norwich City by four points and are three points clear of promotion rivals Sheffield United.
