Luhukay to make 2 changes – Predicted 3-4-1-2 Sheffield Wednesday XI to face Bristol City

Predicted Sheffield Wednesday line-up to face Bristol City

Sheffield Wednesday travel to Bristol City for this weekend’s Championship game in a bid to extend their three-game unbeaten run. Jos Luhukay’s men threw away a two-goal lead against West Brom in midweek very late on to settle for a point. They performed well against Leeds United last week to show they are on the up after a lowly start.

The Owls now travel to face a Bristol side who are level on points in the table, with only the goal difference separating these two teams. Hence, expect a good game at the Ashton Gate this weekend.

Team News

Sam Winnall and Almen Abdi are back in training but may not be included for the game. Ashley Baker, Joost van Aken, Kieran Lee and Gary Hooper are still way off first-team action due to their respective injuries.

Probable Sheffield Wednesday XI

Formation: 3-4-1-2

Manager: Jos Luhukay

Cameron Dawson (GK)

The shot-stopper was slightly guilty of not saving West Brom’s equaliser on Wednesday. Apart from that, he has been good for the team overall.

Tom Lees

Tom Lees (RCB)

Since switching to the right-sided centre-back role, captain Lees is performing well game after game.

Michael Hector (CB)

Hector hasn’t looked back since his first start three games before. He looks a class act in the defence.

Daniel Pudil (LCB)

The experience of Pudil in the back-line is paying dividends for the team. He has done well.

Liam Palmer (RWB)

Palmer is another player who is enjoying his new role. He should work on his final ball though as wing-backs must have a good crossing ability.

Barry Bannan

Barry Bannan (CM)

Was suspended for the previous game, but there is no doubt that he will be back for this one.

Joey Pelupessy (CM)

Scored an unfortunate own goal against the Baggies. Apart from that, it was another fantastic performance from a player who has improved massively since the early parts of this season.

Matt Penney (LWB)

The youngster seems to be enjoying his new role at left wing-back. Should continue there.

Adam Reach (CAM)

After scoring two stunners in the previous two games, Reach’s confidence is on another level and it is evident from the way he is playing for the team.

Steven Fletcher

Fernando Forestieri (ST)

Scored against West Brom and looked very good. He should continue up front but with a strike partner.

Steven Fletcher (ST)

The veteran was rested against the Baggies with Atdhe Nuhiu starting the game. The roles could be reversed for this game.
