Man City would strike gold by signing this wantaway 28-year-old beast to reinforce attacking firepower – Agreed?

Manchester City Opinion: Why Manchester City have to make a move for Antoine Griezmann

Manchester City have a near perfect squad, one that has taken Pep Guardiola a mere two seasons and boatloads of money to create. Sure the club had the core of the team established when the Spaniard arrived at the club.

But to transform them into this table-topping behemoth takes time and money or rather just money as the last few years have shown. His first season saw a lot of struggle for both manager and the players, with the club finishing second to eventual champions Chelsea.

Not only that, it saw them lose games to Tottenham, Chelsea, Leicester City and a few other sides over the course of the season. That changed once Guardiola earmarked the areas he had to improve and change them into the team they are today.

But one area that has largely remained the same is their front-line, with both Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero present at the club much before Guardiola arrived. Even Kevin De Bruyne arrived the season before, allowing the former Barcelona manager to walk into a team with a lot of promise offensively.

However, now the one thing that any manager can’t stop but wants to is time and that will hurt Manchester City in the future. Sure Guardiola has built a near perfect squad of robots to do his bidding and conquer England.

But the one thing that no Guardiola team has ever managed to do so far has been conquer Europe. That is without a little man called Lionel Messi in his team, with both his Bayern Munich and Manchester City sides getting knocked out just before the ultimate stage.  It’s his one fault and something that the club really has to look towards changing.

While doing that may be tough, adding someone like Antoine Griezmann will really help. The Guardian has reported that Manchester City will fight Barcelona in the race for the Frenchman, now that he has officially revealed that he’ll be leaving.

A world-class striker, Griezmann would undoubtedly be a sensational addition to any side in the world. His consistency to score goals and incredible work-ethic has seen him lauded all across the world.

Add that to a rather remarkably consistent lethality in front of goal, with him averaging a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 22 goals over the course of his career. Combine that with his propensity to always show up on the biggest stage and Manchester City may have a chance to end that no-Messi, no-Champions League trophy curse.
