Man Utd’s glory days would return if Solskjaer signs this creative Serie A hitman to boost goalscoring prowess

Manchester United opinion: Manchester United should sign Paulo Dybala

According to a report in the Daily Express, Juventus could be prepared to let go of Paolo Dybala and Manchester United are considering his signature. United will know all about Dybala after the Argentinian was on the winning team after his goal against United at Old Trafford in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Dybala had a poor season by his standards after scoring only 5 goals and providing 5 assists in the Serie A. He did score 5 in the Champions League but 3 of those came in one game. It simply didn’t go right for Dybala all season. Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival might have had something to do with this.

Ronaldo prefers crosses into the box and Dybala can’t provide that from a wide position.

Dybala has looked good in a more central role, where he can play as the link between the midfield and the attack. However, Ronaldo doesn’t have the legs he once did to play 90 minutes on the wing, which is why Dybala has had to occasionally shift wide.

Paulo Dybala

Manchester United will be getting a fantastic player in Dybala, who is very versatile and an excellent goalscorer and chance creator.

With Marcus Rashford looking most likely to play forward this season in most games, there’s definitely a partnership that can be built there as Rashford would not interfere with the spaces that Dybala likes to operate in.

Dybala has also played with Paul Pogba in the past and it goes without saying that he is too good a player to be warming the bench, with no real indication as to what his role at Juventus will be in the coming season.

Juventus have a fantastic squad but it’ll be hard to manage all the superstars in the team.

Dybala will certainly be playing a lot more at Manchester United. Solskjaer has been very flexible with his formations and Dybala would work in plenty of them.

Solskjaer has used a 4-3-3, 4-4-2 Diamond, -4-4-1, 4-3-2-1 and 3-5-2 formations and Dybala’s versatility would work in any of these formations as a false 9, a number 10 or an inverted winger.

Conclusion

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping his side can capture the form when he got the caretaker job and be able to sustain it this season.

The United squad are currently in Singapore on pre-season but will know that the next 21 days have massive implications on their immediate future.
