Manchester United Latest Including: Wayne Rooney And Jesse Lingard

Rooney to Chelsea?

The whole of the past summer window was circulated around the news of Wayne Rooney’s possible exit from Old Trafford with the forward handing in a couple of transfer requests to try and force his way out of the club. However, two weeks into the season after the deadline day, Rooney is already making his mark and has entered the club’s elite list of players to have scored 200 or more goals.

The striker was hell bent to get out of the club with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea vying for his transfer. And a frustrated David Moyes got to the extend of publicly mentioning that the England International will be a second choice to former Arsenal man Robin Van Persie.

However talking to the press after United’s Champions League win over Bayer Leverkusen, Rooney seemed comfortable and at ease with the new manager.

“I feel good. I’ve had some good training the last few weeks. It’s been stop-start with the injuries, but I’ve just kept my head down and worked hard and now I’ve played and got some goals. I feel great. The training is a bit different under the new manager – I remember it from Everton, it’s more intense.”

“That’s helping me. He’s a great manager and thoroughly deserves this job because of what he did at Everton. It’s good to work under him and hopefully be successful together,” Rooney said in an interview.”

It is not the first time that Rooney is working under Moyes with the striker having the past experience of serving under Moyes at Everton before joining United. The supporters of the club would like to believe that both the parties would present the happy picture for a long time and lift many silverwares together.

In other news, Manchester United youngster Jesse Lingard has joined Birmingham City on a one month loan deal. Lingard has impressed everyone with his performance at such a tender age of 20 and is considered as a future superstar for the club. He will play in the Championship and could feature against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend. Manchester United reserve coach Warren Joyce talking about Lingard said:

“I expect a couple more lads to go out on loan shortly, this week. Then we have got to build ourselves into a settled side and get a pattern of play by having everybody at it, like we have in the last few years. There will be several players that need to be out loan now that we need to look at.”

The youngster has not made his way into the senior team but won his first England Under-21 cap, against Scotland last month. He will wear the no.9 jersey for Birmingham and could make his debut against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
