Manchester United Latest: Zaha Excited About His Future And United’s Bid For Elliot Kebbie

Elliot Kebbie

As per reports in The Mirror Manchester United will make a move for Atletico Madrid defender Elliot Kebbie in the summer, the 18 year old English prodigy playing in Spain at the moment. The right back who came up through Leeds United youth academy made a move towards Spain amid interests from Manchester United at that time but who decided that £ 1m was too steep an amount for the player, has now again caught the eye of the Ferguson who may offer Atletico with Chicharito in exchange of Kebbie.

Chicharito, who is frustrated at not having enough opportunities may snub public appeal form Ferguson and decide on moving away, may be the perfect replacement for Falcao who is bound to move out of Atletico Madrid in the summer. It is being reported that Kebbie may be even followed by Falcao to Manchester United, who remains a top target for many clubs across various leagues.

Sir Alex Ferguson has a knack of investing in talented English youths who can serve the club for a long time to come. The interest in Kebbie may just validate this fact. The transfer of Kebbie, who is also known for his attacking acumen, apart from his defensive skills, will add up as a cover and simultaneously put pressure on Rafael, who is being touted as United’s best man in defence from the times of Gary Neville.

The 71-year old United manager has recently said in an interview that he has convinced the owners to make available big funds in the upcoming transfer market and has ambitious plans for the club. This move will also benefit Kebbie, who must be hoping to return to his homeland and join the champions, as there are few there managers who can develop a youngster with more sincerity than Sir Alex Ferguson.

In other news, Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha admits he still can’t quite believe he’ll be joining Manchester United this summer.

In his exit interview in the Palace programme before their game against Peterborough last Saturday, he recognised the challenge of the life he faces at Old Trafford.

“I just wanted to keep my head down when everyone was talking about the speculation,” he admitted.

“I’ll probably be starstruck but it will be great to be in and around the squad and learn from them.

“I watched the game against Aston Villa when they clinched the title and Robin van Persie is just amazing. Knowing that I am going to be playing alongside players like that is just crazy.”
