Should Manchester United Make A Timely Move For This Juventus Full-Back?

January has arrived and we all know what that means; the time for speculation has finally come and it’s time to take a deeper look at those interesting rumours that are gaining more and more strength during the course of the past few weeks, as everybody’s looking to improve their side to face the second half of the season.

Almost every single contending team in England is looking to reinforce their current squad, as the second half of the season is upon us and it’s getting more and more difficult to gain ground in the title competition with a very inspired and dangerous Chelsea leading the table.

And even if most of the teams will be looking to improve their offensive front, several squads are more than loaded on that sector of the pitch, so they’re going to focus on the other side of the area this time in order to finally lock their squads and find a much-needed consistency to compete for the Premier League table.

And, even despite the new tendency among the biggest clubs in the world is to hunt and pursue young talents, you know you can’t win a title without veterans and experience, so making a run at some experienced players would be a very smart thing to do for various contenders.

A team that’s reportedly looking to add depth and experience in their ranks is Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United, a side that got off to a very inconsistent start but has been on a roll over the course of the past couple of weeks, recording 6 straight victories in the Premier League and thriving in the UEFA Europa League as well.

So, they could be looking to bring a familiar face back home, as Juventus left-back Patrice Evra is reportedly looking to make a move out of the Italian side and would love to go back to England, and returning back to Old Trafford would make a lot of sense for both parties.

The Frenchman was one of the main guys at Manchester United during a 9-year tenure from 2005 to 2014 before he finally left for Juventus, leaving a wide open spot for Luke Shaw to take the reins as the left back of the future for the Red Devils.

However, given how poorly Shaw has performed and how Jose Mourinho thinks of him, besides his constant struggles to remain healthy, the Portuguese boss has been forced to use Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind as left backs but doesn’t seem quite convinced yet regarding that spot.

So, bringing the 33 year old veteran back home after a two-year stint at Italy would actually be great, as he could end his career where he was more successful while getting a very important role either as a starter or as a backup and mentor, and it just seems right for everybody to go ahead and make this deal, so don’t be shocked if you see Evra in a red shirt once again at the end of this month or next summer.
