Manchester United Needs To Pay More Than Half Of The Release Clause To Get This Portuguese Midfielder

Manchester United are looking out for Sporting midfielder Joao Mario, according to A Bola. The newspaper has been following the news since some time and while earlier reports suggested that United were rather unsure of taking any step further into the deal, recent reports from the outlet suggest that United will be making an offer for the player at the end of the season.

Reports further suggest that Manchester United scouts were watching the player during the match against Porto and are verily impressed with his displays. The report further mentions the presence of Manchester City scouts in the same match. United will also be facing competition from Paris Saint Germain and Arsenal who are keeping close tabs on the player.

While A Bola is not sure how much United will be offering, we are sure of how much Sporting would need to make them intent on a deal. The midfielder recently renewed his contract with the club and raised his release clause up to €60m. Thus, United will have to offer more than €30m to open talks with the club.
