Manchester United opinion: Red Devils must revive interest in Hirving Lozano
The rot in Manchester United has gotten really bad, so bad that the Red Devils need immediate surgery to take care of all the problems. It’s been a really bad season for the club and they’re lucky to even finish with a top-six spot.
While Jose Mourinho was arguably their best chance of winning a Premier League title, his third season decline was bound to happen as history would suggest.
And so it happened again at Manchester United with the entire club looking toxic from top to bottom. The Red Devils need to get back to winning ways and do it soon.
The post-Ferguson form hasn’t been a complete disaster, as they’ve won a few trophies and even finished second in the 2017/18 season.
Manchester City proved to be a dominant force in the Premier League and finished with a league record number of points. Jose Mourinho and Manchester United finished 2nd with a massive 19 point difference between the sides.
Time and the right additions over the course of the summer window could heal some of the wounds, with new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first transfer window being a defining one for the club.
The club needs at least half a team to go back to winning ways, which does put them in a little bit of a pickle. But their main concern should be their front-line. Romelu Lukaku has already revealed his intentions of playing abroad.
That leaves the club with just Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez. Two players out of that list failed to do much for the club and could effectively be called disappointments.
It is why Manchester United need someone like Hirving Lozano in their team and given their previous links, this is a player they have to pursue their interest in.
An exceptionally talented superstar, the young Mexican forward has a knack for shining on the brightest stages. Its why Mexico did so well in the World Cup.
He finished with 21 goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season, which should earn him a move elsewhere. An incredibly talented star, the 23-year-old has done very well for himself in the Eredivisie and with time will only improve.
He’s shown the ability to effectively replace Alexis Sanchez. That should be amongst Manchester United’s prime concerns and the Mexican international can do just that. Furthermore, his work ethic and ability on the ball will prove to be a massive bonus.
