Manchester United opinion: Should the Red Devils sign Tanguy Ndombele?
According to the Metro, Tanguy Ndombele has been linked with a move to Manchester United in this transfer window. The Frenchman has been one of the most improved players in Europe this year. His performances have been rewarded with an international call-up as well.
The midfielder from Lyon is a dynamic box-to-box midfielder, who is very good at progressing the ball from midfield, covering up ground and has a great final pass. His consistency has come into question but it’s important to remember that he’s still a very young midfielder and will get better over time.
He’s been linked with other clubs as well and is a wanted man so United will have to beat some serious competition to secure the Frenchman’s signature.
This will be a well-deserved move for th Frenchman after an impressive Champions league showing, going up against the likes of Manchester City and Barcelona.
Manchester United have already lost Ander Hererra and Marouane Fellaini since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed. They lack depth in that area now.
Nemanja Matic made a fine start to his United career and also had a decent spell when Solskjaer was appointed as caretaker manager but it’s asking too much of him to be a regular.
Scott McTominay has been one of the more promising players coming through the ranks of the United academy.
Initially seen as a defensive enforcer in midfield, the young Scotland international has shown promise in a more attacking position as well, scoring goals from open play at a time when his teammates were flattering to deceive.
Ndombele would be able to fit into most systems as he can play in a defensive or an offensive set-up without much trouble. He can play as a defensive midfielder, a holding player or as a box-to-box midfielder.

Ndombele will be a good foil for the midfielders mentioned above. Paul Pogba’s future continues to remain uncertain and Ndombele is seen as someone who can take some of the creative and defensive burdens away from his fellow Frenchman.
This would be a big move for the Frenchman and if it’s a success, his reputation is only going to grow.
