Manchester United, Tottenham Suffer Transfer Blow After £36m Target Signs New Contract

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur suffered a major blow in their pursuit of  Atletico Madrid’s midfielder Saul Niguez after he signed a new five-year contract with the club.

Saul had a wonderful season with Atletico Madrid and after his brilliant performances throughout the season, he caught the eyes of the top English clubs.

Saul has scored four goals and has two assists in his 31 La Liga appearances, while the 21-year-old has netted three times, including the wonder goal against Bayern Munich and created two goals for his teammates in 12 Champions League games.

Rumors were suggesting that Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United were ready to launch a £36m bid for the midfielder, but Saul ended all the speculations by signing a five-year contract with Los Rojiblancos.
