Manchester United would regret if they fail to shell out more than £100m to sign this fiery Bundesliga youngster

Why Manchester United must go all out to sign Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho’s move to Borussia Dortmund is paying rich dividends for the former Manchester City youngster.

The 19-year-old scored 12 times and produced 14 assists in the Bundesliga last season but Dortmund missed out on the league title.

The English attacker broke into the national team too and started this campaign in fine form. Sancho already has a goal and an assist from the first league game. The 19-year-old also helped Dortmund beat Bayern in the German Super Cup.

The Daily Mail reports that Manchester United and Manchester City are interested in the attacker who will cost more than £100million next season.

The report adds that Dortmund are already searching for a replacement and United are the “most advanced” when it comes to the pursuit of Sancho.

United must go all-out to secure Sancho’s signing

The Red Devils were unable to sign a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who left in this transfer window.

The 19-year-old Sancho is one of the most talented players in the world and has the potential to improve further.

Sancho can play on either side of the attack and will provide Ole Gunnar Solskjaer options on how to field him.

United have the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard on their books while Daniel James and Mason Greenwood are younger players that should feature for them this season.

However, they don’t have several options for wide players. Rashford and Martial can do the job on the wings but the Englishman’s best performances come when he is playing down the middle.

Martial hasn’t been consistent after his breakthrough season at United, but the Frenchman seems to be getting back to his best after Jose Mourinho’s exit.

Sancho would solve that problem as he is a natural wide player, and spending close to £100m on him wouldn’t be the worst deal.

United have spent big to fix their defence this summer and it makes sense to work on another aspect next season.

It is difficult to name another English talent that has grown as much as Sancho over the past two years, and he could be the perfect fit for United’s attacking setup under Solskjaer.

Verdict

United are still a work in progress after the Mourinho reign but a player of Sancho’s stature will take the attack to another level.

The Englishman has a lot of potential and United could be the right destination after his German chapter.
