Predicted Watford Line-up To Face Crystal Palace In The Premier League
Marco Silva’s Watford travel to South London to face Crystal Palace on Wednesday in one of the matches of the jam-packed December schedule. The Hornets, who were proving to be the dark horses of the league until last month, have faced a few glitches in their campaign in recent times. The side is winless in three games now, prior to their game against Roy Hodgson’s side who suffered from a heartbreaking penalty miss by Benteke in the dying stages of their game last time out in the league. It was not the first time the Belgian was benevolent while taking a spot kick. Unfortunately, it sent them back to where they have belonged for the most parts of the season, rock bottom.
Team News
Watford will be without Marvin Zeegelaar, who was shown a red card for his nasty, two-footed challenge. Other long-term absentees include Nathaniel Chalobah, Miguel Britos, Craig Cathcart and Tommie Hoban.

Defence
In goal, Watford will witness the experienced and skilled Heurelho Gomes. He would love to keep Crystal Palace quiet and pile more misery on the likes of Benteke, whose morale will be low.
Daryl Janmaat should play as the right-back. His positive attitude, ability to dribble his way past and deliver dangerous balls will be key to Watford’s performance.
The other fullback spot should be occupied by Jose Holebas. He loves to operate behind the final third and put early crosses in. The Greece international will have to get back to basics as he has been caught out of position in the past couple of games.
The centre-back pair should be Adrian Mariappa and Christian Kabasele. Their partnership has been crucial for Watford’s resilience and the latter has been a threat in set pieces.
Midfield
Tom Cleverly should play as holding midfielder. He is very sound in possession and if given too much space, he can dictate the play with his diagonal passes and through balls. Defensively too, he is a smart footballing mind.
He could be accompanied by Doucoure, who already has the knack of being in the right place, at the right time. The tall defensive midfielder uses his strength to great effect and is very hard to get past.
Richarlison, who has definitely been their best player so far, will play down the left wing. His dribbling, ball control and ability to get past the fullbacks is outstanding. He smartly goes about his business to always be involved in the play and find himself in goal scoring areas.
On the other wing should be Andre Carillo, who is quick and fine at crossing. His understanding with Richarlison and the holding midfielders is outstanding and the 26-year-old is an able finisher too.
Attack
Roberto Pereyra should play as the No.10 behind the striker. If he finds pockets of space outside the box, he could do some real damage.
Troy Deeney will lead the side. The skipper plays to his strengths and doesn’t eat up too much time with the ball. He gets others into the act quickly and has an unbelievable aerial ability. He would want to score more after returning from injury.
