Morata out, Giroud starts – Strongest 3-4-2-1 Chelsea line-up to face Newcastle United

Predicted Chelsea Line-up To Face Newcastle United In The Premier League

After drawing with Huddersfield on Wednesday night, Chelsea are now hanging on to their Champions League hopes for dear life. They have to beat Newcastle at St. James’ Park on Sunday and hope that Liverpool drop points to achieve a top-4 finish.

Newcastle come into this game on the back of an incredibly unlucky loss against Chelsea’s rivals Tottenham. They had 14 chances at Wembley but were unable to tuck any of them away. They will be buoyed by that game and will be hard to beat at home on the last day of the season.

Probable Chelsea XI

Manager: Antonio Conte

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Willy Caballero (GK)

He has played very few games for Chelsea but always looks top quality when he comes into the starting line-up.

Antonio Rudiger (CB)

The central defender had a decent game against Huddersfield but didn’t excel. Will be looking to keep Matt Ritchie quiet.

Gary Cahill (CB)

Cahill could come back into the team for this game to organise the defence and make it more compact.

Gary Cahill

Cesar Azpilicueta (CB)

Azpilicueta had a bit of an off-game against Huddersfield and will be hoping to pick it up again this time.

Marcos Alonso (LWB)

Alonso had a fantastic game against Huddersfield and has looked quality all season for Chelsea. Should start this game.

Victor Moses (RWB)

Moses could come back into the XI to replace Zappacosta. The wing-back has had a mixed season but when he’s on his game, he is a massive threat.

Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas (CM)

Fabregas ran the midfield against Huddersfield and Chelsea fans will be pleased to see him get back to good form. He has been a hit and miss this season and will be looking to improve in the future.

N’Golo Kante (CM)

One of the first names on Conte’s teamsheet. Will be disappointed not to be picking up a third title in a row. A quality defensive midfielder.

Eden Hazard (CAM)

Came off the bench against Huddersfield and caused a nuisance but didn’t produce enough, which pretty much sums up his season. Will be looking to have a good World Cup.

Eden Hazard

Pedro (CAM)

The Spanish attacking midfielder has always performed against Newcastle and with his direct pace and skill, he could prove to be a problem for their defenders this time too.

Olivier Giroud (ST)

Giroud is another player who has incredible stats against Newcastle United. He is powerful in the air and in the past, that has been too much for their defenders to deal with. Will be looking to add a goal or two to his tally.
