Mourinho To Make 2 Changes – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Line-up To Face Burnley

Predicted Manchester United Line-up To Face Burnley In The Premier League

Manchester United dropped a couple of points in extra time at the weekend, on their trip to the King Power as Harry Maguire’s late equaliser denied them a victory. They are just three points better off than Chelsea and cannot afford to drop any more points in this crucial period of the season. However, they have a tough task on their hands today, as they welcome Sean Dyche’s Burnley to Old Trafford.

The Clarets were thrashed by Tottenham Hotspur in the previous round but have generally been a consistent side that has not been easy to beat. However, Mourinho’s men cannot afford to lose any more ground at the top of the table and are expected to fight for all three points.

Team News

Jose Mourinho will still be without the services of Eric Bailly, Marouane Fellaini, Chris Smalling and Michael Carrick, all of whom are long-term absentees. Full-backs Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian, are also expected to be unavailable for this clash.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jose Mourinho

GK – David de Gea

The Spaniard had a tough time at the King Power but will hope to have an easy night against the Clarets, who are expected to sit back and defend deep.

RB – Ashley Young

The With Valencia out injured, and Lindelof needed at CB, Mourinho has no other option but to use Ashley Young at right-back for this game.

CB – Victor Lindelof

After an inconsistent outing at right-back, Lindelof should back at the heart of the defence, replacing the injured Smalling.

Phil Jones

CB – Phil Jones

The English international had a tough time marking the likes of Vardy at the weekend. He might have a similar night against the likes of Vokes and Barnes.

LB – Daley Blind

With Darmian injured as well, Blind, who has not seen too much of game time this season, could be preferred over Luke Shaw at left-back by Mourinho.

CM – Nemanja Matic

The Serbian international was not at his best against the Foxes but he is expected to have a comfortable game against the Clarets on Tuesday.

CM – Paul Pogba

The French international was ineffective at the King Power and needs to step up his game quickly, to help United snatch all three points from this game.

RW – Juan Mata

The Spaniard was the man of the match for his brace against Leicester City and should keep his place in the side, on the right flank.

Marcus Rashford

CAM – Jesse Lingard

The youngster has done an excellent job, playing on the shoulder of Lukaku as a support striker and he will have a huge role to play, against a well drilled Burnley side.

LW – Marcus Rashford

With Martial losing some form recently, Mourinho should go back to Marcus Rashford, who came off the bench at the weekend.

ST – Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku is fast losing ground in the race for the Golden Boot but this is a great game for him to get back scoring ways, and help his side to a victory.

Here is how Manchester United might line up:
