A New Dimension In Attack – 3 Reasons Why Tottenham Should Sign This Title Winner At All Cost

Goals and Creativity

Riyad Mahrez was the chief driving force alongside Jamie Vardy last season as Leicester finished champions. The 25-year old was one of the top contributors for the Foxes, scoring a whopping 18 goals and setting up a further 10 strikes.

And he started this term on a similar note as well. Mahrez has notched up 7 strikes in the ongoing campaign, along with four assists to his name. Four of his goals for Leicester have come in the Champions League, demonstrating that he can perform at the biggest of the stages as well. With Mahrez in the side, goals are a guarantee. He will score, he will set up plenty of opportunities for his teammates from his excellent crossing abilities and link-up play. And add to the mix his set-piece prowess, Mahrez will be a potent weapon for Tottenham to have in their arsenal.

Improvement on Current Options

Mauricio Pochettino, over the past two years, has brought in personnel to improve the wide areas on the field, but none have made the desired impact.

Clinton N’Jie was brought in last term, but was shipped off on loan this season owing to his ineffective displays and struggles to get used to the ways of the English game. Georges-Kevin N’Koudou arrived in the summer of 2016 with great promise, but is yet to make a meaningful contribution. Moussa Sissoko was signed on the deadline day of the summer window, but he too has struggled to adapt to the style of Tottenham and has struggled to get going. Mahrez has done better than all the options that Tottenham have in their ranks and will be a major improvement on them.
