Norwich signing this talented 20-year-old Ipswich prospect would serve their future very well
Norwich City Opinion: Why the Canaries should sign Andre Dozzell
According to a report from East Anglian Daily Times, newly-promoted Norwich City are interested in Ipswich Town midfielder Andre Dozzell.
Andre Dozzell, 20, came through the youth ranks at Portman Road and made his first-team debut at 16. He has since struggled a little with injury, missing the 2017/18 campaign with an ACL injury, but he has bounced back this past season to also attract interest from Brighton, adds the report.
The 20-year-old’s contract expires next summer although Ipswich have a one-year extension clause. Regardless, Ipswich Town want to tie him down to a longer deal.
Following relegation to the League One, the Tractor Boys manager Paul Lambert would like to keep hold of the core of the squad to bounce back at the first time of asking.
Dozzell is one of the most important players and the club would try their best to retain his services but interest from Premier League clubs could be too tempting to turn down.
With that in mind, Norwich should beat Brighton to the 20-year-old midfielder’s signing this summer.
The Canaries boss Daniel Farke has shown a lot of trust on youngsters and promoted them during the Championship-winning campaign of last season.
The likes of Ben Godfrey, Jamal Lewis, Todd Cantwell and Max Aarons played significant roles in the club’s return to the Premier League. Of course, recruitment has also been instrumental and Farke and co. will be expected to continue working in the same vein.
Norwich have added some firepower over the summer to boost the attacking department, which was excellently spearheaded by Teemu Pukki in the Championship. However, it’s high time for Farke to add strength to the midfield depth and he could do a good job by bringing in Andre Dozzell.

Dozzell may not be a regular starter for the Canaries in the Premier League but he could be eased into the team. The 20-year-old could be the long-term replacement for Alexander Tettey, who will turn 34 midway through the next season.
He’s clearly got something about him if Norwich are interested in signing him and the fact that it could be for a bargain deal makes it even better for the Premier League newbies.
Verdict
Thus, Norwich should quickly snap up Dozzell from Ipswich Town before other clubs start circling.

Carling Cup Days! What happened the last time Arsenal faced off against Ipswich Town?
Arsenal and Ipswich Town last faced off so long ago that even the existing Carabao Cup tournament had a different name
It’s been a while since Arsenal and Ipswich Town last faced off in a professional match. After 13 years the two teams collide on Boxing Day in the ongoing 2024/25 English Premier League season.
While Kieran McKenna’s are reeling in their return season, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal find themselves in the top 3 (however, not as strong as how they were the last two seasons). With Bukayo Saka now out, Arsenal will be looking to experimenting ‘Starboy’s’ position in the fixture at the Emirates that is considered to be a rather easy one.
However, in this article, we will take a look at the last meeting between Arsenal and Ipswich Town, which took place on the 25th of January, 2011. Those were the days when relatively weaker teams made it to the knockout stages of the League Cup pretty often. In recent times, especially after 2020, the knockout stages of the tournament have been dominated by the top teams of the Premier League.
Back to 2011, both Arsenal and Ipswich had made it to the semi-finals of the League Cup (famously known as the Carling Cup back then). In the first leg of the semi-final at Portman Road Stadium, Ipswich had won 1-0, keeping the Gunners at bay. The loss made Arsenal fans anxious as back then, they were into their sixth year without a silverware (Since 2005 FA Cup).
Ipswich Town’s resistance was broken only in the second half of the second leg
Ipswich Town carried their resillience and defiance from the first leg to the Emirates as well. A frustrated Arsenal were left goalless in the first half adding to more tension in the atmosphere.
However, the Gunners had a burst of energy starting from the second half. In just three minutes, right after the hour mark, Arsenal struck twice – through – Nicklas Bendtner and Laurent Koscielny. A while later Cesc Fabregas tripled Arsenal’s lead, to make it 3-0. There was no way back for the then-Championship side after that, as Arsenal marched onto the final.
Arsenal would go on to lose the final
Although Arsenal were clear favorites ahead of their Carling Cup final against Birmingham City, a calamitous piece of defending from Laurent Koscielny and goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny saw them lose the game in the dying minutes of the final, when the score was level, 1-1.
Their trophy drought would go on to extend until 2014, until their famous comeback win in the FA Cup final against Hull City.

Young, Smalling and Blind! Manchester United were a very different side the last time they faced Ipswich Town

It’s Manchester United vs. Ipswich Town this weekend, and the game marks the debut of the Red Devils’ new manager Ruben Amorim. In this article we take a look at the last time Manchester United faced Ipswich Town. Ipswich, being a newly-promoted team, haven’t faced the big teams in the EPL for a while. The last time they took on Man United, it was the 23rd of September, 2015 in the 3rd round of the League Cup. The Red Devils eased to a 3-0 victory.

The legendary German midfielder was in his first season at Manchester United. He left the club in 2017 to join Chicago Fire. In 2019 he hung up his boots.
CM – Marouane Fellaini
One of David Moyes’ favorite men, Fellaini joined Manchester United in 2013. He was a part of the club until 2019. He then joined Chinese club Shandong Taishan. Fellaini hung up his boots in 2024, after 5 years with the Chinese club.
CAM – Juan Mata
The immaculate Juan Mata was in his second season at Manchester United. He went on to be a part of the club until 2022, making close to 200 league appearances. Mata now plays for Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia.

After a year there, he joined MLS club D.C. United in 2018. He retired in 2021, having last played for Derby County. He is now the head coach of Plymouth Argyle.
