Not Likely To Happen, But Here Are 3 Unknown Fringe Stars Pochettino And Tottenham Should Target This Summer

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino

Three Young Future Stars Who Tottenham Can Target In The Summer

Tottenham Hotspur are fast growing into a consistent force in the Premier League and it is now up to the manager to be able to prolong their consistency over the next season as well. Mauricio Pochettino has some serious plans for his club and will be looking to add some established players to his squad to help them compete at the highest level next season.

However, he will also have to consider a move for some of the potential superstars who can turn into world class players in the future. Pochettino is not new to giving youngsters a chance to thrive (ask Dele Alli). So there will be a host of young talent around Europe ready to play for the Argentine next season. Here are three such players Pochettino should target this summer:

Maxwell Cornett (Lyon)

One of the most versatile attackers in the French Ligue 1, Cornett has been in impeccable form in front of goal for the French outfit this season. He has been used regularly from the bench and to good effect. He is capable of playing on the wing or as a lone striker while his work rate will also attract Pochettino. He is 20-years old and has 10 goals and 3 assists to his name in all competitions this season. Surely, he is a player who Pochettino can do with this summer.

Alban Lafont (Toulouse)

Tottenham don’t seem to have a problem in the goalkeeping department. But they need a player who can step in Lloris’ place in a year or two and they might want to look at his international colleague, Lafont. The 18-year old Toulouse academy graduate is regarded as one of the best young shot-stoppers in the country and is not too far away from taking the big step. He has kept 11 clean sheets in 37 games this season and is a superb option to replace Lloris at White Hart Lane in the future.

Sergi Canos (Brentford):

Another youngster who is slowly making a name for himself is Brentford star Canos. The 20-year old is yet to represent the Spanish national side but has been on the fringes for some time now. He is a versatile player who can play on either wing and has also helped his side as a wing-back on a couple of occasions. At his age, he is still learning the game but Pochettino does have the ability to turn such players into stars and Canos might be the next big star gracing the new White Hart Lane.
