The Argentine’s future at Elland Road was up in the air following the Whites’ failure to make it to the Premier League.

Now, the club’s chairman Andrew Radrizanni said Bielsa has some unfinished business with the Whites.

He said, (h/t BBC Football)

“We were close and next season we will work harder to achieve our goal. I am delighted that Marcelo has agreed to stay on for another year,”

Bielsa’s impact at the start of the season was quite effective, but took an eventful turn in the final third of the competition, losing a string of games.

The Whites were cited as the favourites to land promotion before they failed to pull the strings together in the final few weeks, which allowed Sheffield United to have the edge in the promotion race.

The Blades and Norwich City achieved automatic promotion, leaving the Whites in the playoffs.

However, Leeds submitted themselves to Derby County in playoffs semi-finals in the second leg despite the first leg win.
