Go For It Arsene – 2 Transfers That Arsenal Should Complete This January

Two Transfers That Arsenal Should Complete This January

Though the recent 5-2 victory over Everton in the Premier League or the 2-1 win over Swansea has given Arsenal a new platform to build on for the rest of the season. Arsene Wenger’s men are in the top-4 and though they have a decent squad, they need a couple of more additions to make sure that they can compete at the highest level until the end of the season.

However, the January transfer window will be one opportunity for Arsene Wenger to make some adjustments to the squad, to help ensure smoother time in the business end of the campaign. A number of players could also leave the club in January but here is one player Arsenal should sign and one player they should send out this January:

IN:

Rafinha (Barcelona)

The Gunners may lose one of either Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil in the January transfer window, with a number of clubs being hot on their heels. The Arsenal manager is desperate for some attacking quality and even if the duo stays, the versatility of Barcelona’s Rafinha could come in handy.

Having lost his first-team place under Ernesto Valverde, he is expected to be shipped off in January, with a number of suitors in the Premier League. He can play in various roles in the midfield and is a perfect fit for Wenger’s style of play. Also available on the cheap, he is just the transfer target Wenger usuly likes to spend on.

Rafinha

He may not be the big European name that the Arsenal fans are crying out for but Rafinha is more than capable of taking Arsenal a step ahead.

OUT:

Calum Chambers

The English defender, surprisingly, was offered a new contract by the club, which shows that he has a future at the Emirates. Currently not 100% fit, Chambers is just back in training and hasn’t featured regularly for the Gunners. He is still relatively young and needs regular game time under his belt to continue his progress.

Wenger is not expected to field him in the first-team regularly so it might be best for the club and the player to loan him out in January, giving him some exposure and experience, helping Arsenal improve their options in defence come the start of the next season.

At 22, he has a bright future ahead of him and Wenger has to stick with him on the long-term. So a loan move might be the best way to go ahead.
