Outstanding Boly, Brilliant Jota – The best and the worst rated Wolves players vs Birmingham City

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 Birmingham City: Wolves Celebrate Premier League Promotion After Easy Win

It was confirmed yesterday that Wolves would definitely be playing Premier League football next year but they seem absolutely determined to end the season in style, with an excellent victory over Birmingham today.

They looked fantastic all game, but looked very comfortable after Harlee Dean’s red card in the 52nd minute. They look set to become the champions of the Championship if they win their next game. They will be looking forward to testing themselves in a higher division next season.

Wolves Player Ratings

John Ruddy – 7.5/10

Ruddy had a good game today and made four very important saves to keep his team in the game. He looked commanding.

Ryan Bennett – 7.5/10

Bennett had a very solid day on the right-hand side of the back three. He put in some good tackles and nothing got past him in the air.

Conor Coady – 7.5/10

Coady was probably the Wolves defender who had the least to do but his passing was excellent, helping Wolves build well from the back.

Willy Boly – 8.5/10

Has looked fantastic all season. Had another stand-out game today and dominated at the back.

Matt Doherty– 8/10

Doherty had a great game down that right-hand side and grabbed another good assist for his team. Will be interesting to see how the two Wolves wing-backs cut it in the Premier League.

Barry Douglas – 6.5/10

Douglas will be disappointed that he didn’t do more, especially after Birmingham were reduced to 10-men.

Ruben Neves – 7.5/10

The 21-year-old has been a different class for Wolves this season but today wasn’t one of his best days. However, he still played very well. He looked dangerous offensively and also put in a few good tackles.

Roman Saiss – 7.5/10

Saiss had a good game today. His passing was fantastic and he bossed the midfield.

Helder Costa – 7.5/10

The right-winger will be very pleased with his contribution to Wolves today. He always looked like a threat with the ball and played well throughout.

Ivan Cavaleiro – N/A

Cavaleiro left the pitch after 17 minutes and was replaced by Leo Bonatini.

Diego Jota 8/10

Jota seems to be back to his best and scored a good goal today. Will be great to see how he fares in the Premier League next season.

Leo Bonatini – 7/10

Came on in the 17th minute to replace the injured Ivan Cavaleiro and looked dangerous. He drove at them well and got a couple of shots away. Was unlucky not to score.

Alfred N’Diaye – 7.5/10

Replaced Neves after 70 minutes and got a great assist for his team. Also broke up the play well in the middle.

Benik Afobe7.5/10

Replaced Jota in the 74th minute and played well up top, grabbing a goal for his troubles.
