Hamilton 1-2 Celtic: Hoops Move One Step Closer To The Title
Celtic got one step closer to defending the Scottish Premiership title by securing a 2-1 win against Hamilton. Brendan Rodgers took a few risks and made a few changes to the starting lineup but in the end, the Hoops managed to come out unscathed. A Callum McGregor goal put Celtic in the driver’s seat but the home side equalised soon after.
As minutes ticked by, Leigh Griffiths made some important contributions and he scored the winning goal for the club after coming on for Jack Hendry. Let’s take a look at how the players fared against Hamilton.

Scott Bain – 6/10
Bain fulfilled his basic duties well but he could have done better to keep the Hamilton goal away.
Jack Hendry – 5/10
Failed to put in a convincing display and to make matters worse, Hendry had to leave the game with a head injury. Was replaced by Leigh Griffiths.
Kristoffer Ajer – 3/10
Ajer was particularly poor at the back and he got dispossessed too easily on several occasions. Also, he could have been more vigilant in preventing the equalising goal from Hamilton.
Dedryck Boyata – 6.5/10
Boyata was average but he was the best of the lot. He coped with the home side’s attackers despite looking a bit shaky at times.
Patrick Roberts – 7/10
Promising display from the youngster as he provided a splendid assist for the opening goal.
Scott Brown – 7.5/10
Brown is an important presence in the middle of the park for Celtic and that was evident today. Although he was quiet, he marshalled the proceedings in the midfield area.
Olivier Ntcham – 7.5/10
Ntcham played a decent game and made up for lost time with some important moves. His shots on goal could have been better but nevertheless, it was a convincing performance.
Kieran Tierney – 6/10
Tierney was solid but did nothing spectacular.
Callum McGregor – 8.5/10
Scored a brilliant goal in the opening few minutes and troubled the opposition. McGregor never shied away from surging forward and was a constant threat.
Scott Sinclair – 7/10
Despite a poor start, Sinclair rallied himself together and put in a good second-half display. He was involved in the winning goal as well.
Moussa Dembele – 5/10
Squandered a golden opportunity to score for Celtic and from that point, his confidence took a major hit and Dembele was invisible for most of the game.
Subs:
Leigh Griffiths – 9/10
Came on as a sub but he made a remarkable impact. Scored the winning goal for the club and was quite fluid.
Odsonne Edouard – 5/10
Edouard could not do anything extraordinary on the field.
Charly Musonda – N/A
Came close to scoring the third goal but besides that, he did not have enough time to make an impact.
