Pienaar Joins Everton

Steven Pienaar joins Everton permanently after his loan deal has expired this summer. Pienaar agreed to terms on a four-year deal with Everton after a £4.5 million transfer fee was accepted by Tottenham Hotspur according to Sky Sports.

Pienaar re-joins Everton

Pienaar left Everton for Tottenham in January of 2011 for a transfer fee of  £3 million, but the South African could not make much of an impact as he had done with the Merseyside club and could not force his way into Tottenham’s starting line-up. So last year Pienaar rejoined Everton on a loan deal where he made 14 league starts for David Moyes’ side in 2012, tallying four goals and seven assists.

“I am happy to be here. It took a few weeks to sort out but I am delighted to be back and excited to play for Everton,” Pienaar told Everton’s official website.

“There was no doubt in my mind that I would be back here. At the end of the season, I told the manager how I felt and I am happy now it is all done.”
