Pochettino To Make 8 Changes – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Line-up To Face Stoke City

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Line-up To Face Stoke City In The Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur may have managed to qualify for the knockout stage of the Champions League this season by topping their group but their domestic form has been far from impressive. They have fallen down to 6th place in the points table, after their draw against Watford in the previous round. They will look to get back to winning ways this weekend when they welcome Stoke City to Wembley.

The Potters are fresh from a victory over Swansea City and have proven hard to beat this season. Mauricio Pochettino’s side need to be at their best to get anything from this game.

Team News

Pochettino will still be without the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama, who are nursing long-term injuries. Young Davinson Sanchez saw red against Watford and is suspended while Danny Rose, still to train with the first-team after his latest injury, may yet make the bench.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

GK – Hugo Lloris

The French international got a much-deserved rest in the mid-week but should be back under the bar for this game.

RB – Kieran Trippier

The English international has been preferred for the league games and should keep his place in the side at right-back.

CB – Eric Dier

With Sanchez and Alderweireld out, Dier is expected to play in a CB partnership with Vertonghen this weekend.

Ben Davies

CB – Jan Vertonghen

The Belgian remains the only genuine CB in the senior side and will need to put in a shift, against a decent attacking unit from Stoke City.

LB – Ben Davies

With Rose still not fully fit, Davies remains Pochettino’s only option at left-back for this game.

CM – Harry Winks

The youngster has been brilliant this campaign so far and should be preferred over Sissoko against the Potters.

CM – Mousa Dembele

The Belgian midfielder will be responsible to add creativity to the midfield for his side, easing their struggles in front of goal.

RW – Christian Eriksen

The Dane was rested for the game in the mid-week but should be back into the starting XI, playing on the right-hand side of the attack.

Son Heung-min (left)

CAM – Dele Alli

Had a productive outing against APOEL Nicosia earlier in the week and should retain his place in the No.10 role.

LW – Heung-min Son

Scored a belter in the UCL tie on Wednesday and will hope to put in a similar performance, starting on the left flank.

ST – Harry Kane

Was also rested against APOEL Nicosia and will be fresh and pumped up to take on the likes of Shawcross and Zouma this weekend.

Here is how Spurs might line up:
