Possible Manchester United Starting XI To Play Against Shakhtar Donetsk And Injury News

Let’s put the West Brom defeat behind us and look forward to Manchester United’s Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk. The Reds travel to Ukraine to try and secure all the three points and build on their 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen on the opening day of the UCL group matches.

Manchester United’s league form is not at its best with another shocker at the hands of West Brom last Saturday, left them in the second half of the table with just 7 points after the first 6 games. David Moyes will seek this opportunity to pick up all three points and put the domestic woes behind them.

However, Moyes’ press conference after the weekend’s match was not very convincing as the Scot questioned whether his side have the quality to win the Champions League.

“To win the Champions League, you need five or six world-class players,” said Moyes, who took over the club in July. That’s the level you have to be at to win it. We’ve not got that yet but what we have got is experience.”

The host themselves started the UCL campaign with a win over Real Sociedad in Spain and boasts an undefeated record against English sides making this an interesting fixture.

As far as the team news on concerned, Robin van Persie could start for the Reds – Quoted by United’s Official site. Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra may also feature, having been given the rest during the weekend. Although it will be interesting to see of Moyes opts to play Ferdinand and Vidic or sticks with Evans.

In the midfield, expect Fellaini to play along side Carrick. RVP’s return will mean that Rooney will take the No.10 role leaving doubts about Kagawa’s involvement.

Here is a predicted line-up that Moyes might deploy tomorrow.
