Pochettino To Make 2 Big Changes – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Lineup To Face Burnley

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup To Face Burnley In The Premier League

Tottenham have had a mixed start to their season, winning their first game of the season against Newcastle United and losing their second fixture, to Chelsea at the Wembley Stadium. Having finished 2nd last season, Spurs will be looking to make a charge for the title this season as well.

They’ve had the feeling of disappointment for the past two seasons, having finished 2nd in the pile when Leicester won the Premier League as well. However, they can make up for those disappointments by putting their best foot forward this season.

The Team

Goalkeepers: Hugo Lloris, Michel Vorm, Paulo Gazzaniga

Defenders: Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Kieran Trippier, Kevin Wimmer, Ben Davies, Kyle Walker-Peters, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Davinson Sanchez

Midfielders: Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Erik Lamela, Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembele, Moussa Sissoko, Kevin Nkoudou, Harry Winks

Forwards: Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane, Vincent Janssen

Probable Spurs XI against Burnley

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Hugo Lloris (GK)

The French goalkeeper is the captain of the side and the team will depend on him to bring his A-game to the field and make the saves that are expected of him.

Hugo Lloris

Kyle Walker-Peters (RB)

The youngster will most likely get a chance to showcase his talents this season, despite Trippier’s remarkable rise at Tottenham. With Kyle Walker having left the club, his namesake will start the game at right back.

Toby Alderweireld (CB)

The Belgian centre-back has been an ever-present in the Tottenham side since his arrival from Ajax. He’s formed a formidable partnership with compatriot Jan Vertonghen and any attacking force will fear coming up against the defensive duo.

Jan Vertonghen (CB)

Vertonghen too has been a prominent player in the Spurs ranks since his move from Ajax. As previously mentioned, the duo of him and Alderweireld has been excellent and given Burnley’s away record, they will find it very difficult to break open the Spurs defence.

Jan Vertonghen

Ben Davies (LB)

The way he’s been playing, the Welshman will mostly get the nod to start at left back. He impressed against Newcastle, scoring the team’s second goal against The Magpies.

Eric Dier (CM)

Dier’s versatility is such a huge bonus for Pochettino and the Argentine gaffer could slot him in the middle of the park after playing him in the back-3 against Chelsea. He will do the dirty work expected of a defensive midfielder.

Victor Wanyama (CM)

The Kenyan defensive midfielder has been a hit since coming in from Celtic. He will be expected to sit in front of the defence and afford more freedom to the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen.

Christian Eriksen (LM)

Spurs have had a lot of players come in from Ajax. The Dane too arrived from the Amsterdam Arena and has made himself as one of the key cogs for Spurs. Eriksen along with Dele Alli will be expected to provide the impetus from the midfield.

Dele Alli and Son Heung-min

Dele Alli (CAM)

Alli has become a key cog of the team and will be expected to be one of the main attacking outputs against a weak Burnley side.

Heung-Min Son (RM)

The South Korean had a fantastic season last year, scoring over 20 goals in all competitions. He can expect a starting berth in this game.

Harry Kane (ST)

The star man of Tottenham, Harry Kane will be expected to deliver big against Burnley. Having scored 29 goals in the league last term, the golden boot winner will be expected to score.
