Premier League Budget XI featuring 3 Chelsea stars, 1 Arsenal target and others

The English Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world with a lot of the top clubs splashing the cash to get the best players. Arsenal have spent massively on Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil while Manchester United literally broke the British transfer record to bring Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid into the team, the big teams have the budget to go and spend crazy in the transfer window but the smaller clubs often have to deal with a decent scouting network to bring in some amazing deals.

Here is an EPL XI of the best players each of whom are valued under £ 15 million, so here we go.

Goal Keeper And Defence

Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois – £7.9 million

Chelsea certainly stole a march from the other Premier League clubs when they signed the highly rated Belgian goalkeeper from Genk in 2011, sure he spent a few years on loan at Atletico Madrid but he has always been a good goalkeeper and in his last 2 seasons he has become probably the best goalkeeper in the World, arguably with Manuel Neuer.

Defender: Cesar Azpiliceta – £7 million

Since it is so difficult to chant his name out, the Chelsea fans call him “Dave” but the Spanish player is anything but a normal player, his performances for Chelsea have been brilliant. Although he is never in the limelight, he is quick and has made the Chelsea left back role his own despite having the likes of Felipe Luis in the squad.

Defender: Branislav Ivanovic- £9 million

Chelsea seem to know their defenders and how to get them cheap. The Serbian is adept at playing both as a right back and a centre back, providing much needed cover to the Chelsea defence. Built like a tank, Ivanovic has had some of his best games in the heart of the Chelsea defence and is certainly one of the best defenders in the league.

Defender: Phil Jagielka – £4 million

An England international, Phil Jagielka has become one of the best centre backs in the country; initially he started off his career as a defensive midfielder for Sheffield United. Once the Blades were relegated from the Premier League, Everton signed up Jags for a paltry sum of £4 million pounds which seems to be a great deal now.

Defender: Leighton Banes – £6 million

Leighton Banes had a lot of suitors for him when he decided to leave Wigan Athletic in 2007; the then 22 year old rejected a move to Sunderland and joined Everton, where he has flourished in his role as left back. His crossing is considered to be one of his best traits and is deadly during free kicks as well.
