Gameweek 34 – Premier League Team Of The Week
Premier League football is nearing its conclusion and gameweek 34 has been significant in terms of top-four race as well as the relegation battle. Many of the outfits had a ‘double gameweek’ and the league table looks interesting after the completion of such hectic schedule.
Liverpool continued their impressive run with a thumping 3-0 win versus Bournemouth at Anfield. Huddersfield Town received a massive boost in the relegation battle following an injury-time winner against Watford and Crystal Palace were finally back to winning ways with a sensational 3-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.
Everton drew with Swansea City whereas Stoke City suffered a heartbreak last night when a late equaliser from West Ham’s Andy Carroll sent them closer to a Premier League relegation.
Manchester City are the champions following Manchester United’s shock defeat to bottom-placed West Brom at Old Trafford. Spurs drew on the road against Brighton & Hove Albion and are now fighting for a top-4 spot amidst pressure from 5th-placed Chelsea, who won both of their games this week. Arsenal’s miserable away streak continued as they lost to Newcastle United.

Ben Foster (GK)
It might be too late for West Brom to script a relegation escape but a win at Old Trafford against a mighty Manchester United deserves appreciation. The ex-Red Devils custodian delivered a stellar performance on his return to Manchester and denied the efforts of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to protect the lead and clinch a clean sheet by defying the odds.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)
The teenager has been a revelation for Liverpool this season as he once again dominated the opponents from right-back. His runs and crosses were causing chaos in the Bournemouth defence and one such effort was converted into a goal by Mohamed Salah.
Virgil van Dijk (CB)
The Dutchman maintained his composure against the Cherries and put in a commendable performance to help his team maintain a clean sheet.
Mathias Jørgensen (CB)
The Danish centre-back of Huddersfield Town not only kept a clean sheet but also assisted Tom Ince, who grabbed a winner in the closing seconds.
Kieran Gibbs (LB)
The former Arsenal full-back might be going down with West Brom but performed magnificently on Sunday evening at Old Trafford and helped his side grab an incredible win. Gibbs provided defensive cover and also maintained his composure throughout the game.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (RCM)
Another former Arsenal prodigy, who is redefining his worth at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp, he played a pivotal role in their progress to the Champions League semi-finals and also ruled the show against Bournemouth with his work-rate and destructive display. Constructed counter-attacks and also assisted Roberto Firmino’s goal towards the end.
Luka Milivojevic (LCM)
