Puel to make 1 key change – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Leicester City XI to face Southampton

Predicted Leicester City line-up to face Southampton in the Premier League

Leicester City picked up their first win of the season by beating Wolves 2-0 at the King Power Stadium. It was an impressive outing for the Foxes but one to forget for Jamie Vardy, who was sent off for a lunging tackle on Matt Doherty.

The Foxes will now be gearing up for the game against a fragile Southampton side who are yet to claim their first win of the season.

Team News

With Jamie Vardy suspended, Kelechi Iheneacho could lead the line against the Saints. Apart from Matty James and Shinji Okazaki, manager Claude Puel has a healthy squad to pick from.

Vardy’s absence will definitely be rued by the manager, but Iheneacho is not short of talent and can produce goals out of nothing.

Probable Leicester City XI

Manager: Claude Puel

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

Currently one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, Schmeichel will definitely start between the sticks for Leicester.

Ricardo Pereira (RB)

The former Porto defender has been impressive in both his outings for the club. Pereira picked up an assist in the previous game as well.

Harry Maguire (CB)

A leader and commander at the back, Maguire should aim to replicate his performances from last season and play every single game of the Foxes.

Jonny Evans (CB)

Starting Evans alongside Maguire proved to be an immediate success and Claude Puel should stick with this partnership for the game against the Saints.

Ben Chilwell (LB)

The youngster has finally broken into the first-team and earned himself a regular role. This could be the season for Chilwell to take his game to the next level.

Nampalys Mendy (RCM)

Mendy’s distribution has been brilliant in the middle of the park and the Frenchman has so far flourished in his role.

Wilfred Ndidi (LCM)

The Foxes are going to need Ndidi’s relentless running in midfield to shut out Southampton.

Marc Albrighton (RAM)

A very underrated player for the Foxes, Albrighton’s crosses into the box will pose all kinds of problems for Mark Hughes’ men.

Marc Albrighton

James Maddison (CAM)

The former Norwich City midfielder capped off an impressive performance with his first goal for the club in the previous game. He seems to be settling in nicely and should start against the Saints.

Demarai Gray (LAM)

Gray’s devastating pace makes it very hard for defenders to stop his runs. He is a constant threat down the left-hand side.
