Puel to make 5 changes – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Leicester City XI to face Sheffield United

Predicted Leicester City Lineup To Face Sheffield United In The FA Cup

Leicester City will host Championship side Sheffield United on Friday for their upcoming FA Cup clash. Although the Foxes have improved under Claude Puel, they were subjected to a brutal 5-1 defeat against Manchester City in their most recent Premier League game. However, they will be looking to get back to winning ways when the Blades pay a visit.

Leicester have enjoyed good fortune in the FA Cup so far but they have will face a tough opponent in Sheffield and it will be interesting to see if they can snatch the 3 points at stake.

Team News

Leicester are likely to be without the services of Wes Morgan and Shinji Okazaki but besides them, Puel has no fresh injury concerns and will have a fit squad at his disposal.

Probable Leicester City XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Claude Puel

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

Although Ben Hamer put in a solid performance in Leicester’s previous FA Cup game, Puel might be tempted to deploy Schmeichel ahead of him since the stakes are a lot higher in this game.

Christian Fuchs (LB)

With Ben Chilwell starting as a regular in the Premier League, Fuchs is likely to receive a start on Friday. His experience and skills on the left-hand side will prove to be vital for the club.

Yohan Benalouane (CB)

The centre-back may have been starved of game time this season but with an important clash against Sheffield coming up, Puel could turn to Benalouane since his solidity and power at the back will be crucial against an unpredictable Sheffield attack.

Kasper Schmeichel

Aleksandar Dragovic (CB)

The 26-year-old has put in some impressive displays for the Foxes and he is likely to partner Benalouane at the heart of the Leicester defence against Sheffield.

Danny Simpson (RB)

After making a substitute appearance against Manchester City, Simpson should return the starting lineup on Friday and his effective patrolling on the right-hand side can work wonders for Leicester.

Vicente Iborra (CM)

Since Wilfred Ndidi played the previous game against the Sky Blues, Puel could deploy Iborra in this role. Very few players can exert control the way Iborra can and his performance will be important for the club.

Vicente Iborra

Adrien Silva (CM)

Silva seems most likely to be the one to partner Iborra and the duo will be responsible for pulling the strings and dictating the pace of the game to amp up the pressure on the visitors.

Marc Albrighton (LW)

Albrighton might return to his preferred role and the player will have to be at his best to create chances and break apart the Sheffield defence.

Demarai Gray (AM)

Since Okazaki will sit this one out, Puel could deploy Gray as the attacking midfielder. In their previous FA Cup encounter against Peterborough, U23 star Harvey Barnes essayed this role but this time, Gray is likely to be utilised against Sheffield.

Demarai Gray

Fousseni Diabate (RW)

Diabate has put in a string of impressive displays for the club and he will be looking to continue the same if he were to start on Friday as well. Given his blistering pace and attacking instincts, Puel might hand him a start.

Jamie Vardy (CF)

Since this is an important round, we can expect Vardy to lead the line for the Foxes. Getting an early goal or two will be key to pressurising the visitors and Puel could hand him a start to do just that.
