Rafa Benitez Hits Out At Chelsea Fans And Threatens To Quit The Club

published :

Rafa Benitez, the so called “Interim manager” of Chelsea has never received any sort of support from the Stamford Bridge crowd as there are a hand-full of fans in every match, who have been targeting Benitez with banners and songs wanting the manager to head out of the club.

The former Liverpool boss is not the favourite amongst the Blues ever since he bad mouthed about them during his days at Anfield. So it is understandable that the fans want him out of the club. There’s been reports of rifts behind the scenes, but Rafa Benitez has finally cracked publicly.

Benitez said: “I have been in charge in football for 26 years. I have won the Champions League, won the FFFA Club World Cup, the FA Cup, the Italian Supper Cup, the Spanish league twice, nine trophies, all the trophies you can win at club level.

“A group of fans, they are not doing any favours for the team when they are singing and wasting time preparing banners.

“It’s because someone made a mistake. They put my title [as] ‘interim manager’, and I will leave at the end of the season, so they don’t need to waste time with me.

“They have to concentrate on supporting the team, that’s what they have to do. In the end, they are not doing any favours to the club, to the rest of the fans and to the players.

“Every game they continue singing and they continue preparing banners, they are wasting time. What they have to do is support the team.

“If we cannot achieve what we expect to achieve, that is to be in the top four and be in the Champions League for next year, I will leave; they will stay in the Europa League.”

What do you guys think of this? Is he within his rights to have a go at the fans and Abramovich? A neutral fan would think he has, but none of the Blues will have a soft corner for their manager as they want him to leave as early as possible. The fans haven’t supported him at all and the term ‘interim manager’ shows a lack of long term support from Abramovich as well. It is inevitable that either Benitez will walk out of the club or Roman Abramovich will sack him, but the question remains when will it happen. There is also a rising speculation that Benitez may leave at the end of this weekend as a result of his fact-serving comments last night.
