Rangers News: Alfredo Morelos appears as a substitute against Japan

The South Americans squared off against Japan in friendlies at Yokohama stadium.

The 22-year-old was called into the national squad by Carlos Queiroz because of his incredible run of form this season.

Following the call-up, the manager hailed the youngster as the future of Colombian football.

Morelos has been phenomenal for Gers this season scoring 29 goals across all competitions.

The striker who has been handed number 7  started on the bench as per the manager’s decision.

He finally got his minutes as a substitute for James Rodriguez. Radamel Falcao scored the penalty in the 64th minute which was sufficient to seal off the game 1-0.

Besides his goal scoring form, Morelos has received four red cards and a three-match-suspension so far owing to his misconduct.

Earlier, Morelos shared a picture standing alongside star forwards James Rodriguez and  Radamel Falcao in the kit launch.

Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard, the Light Blues boss is expecting Morelos to return with a good shape for Old Firm derby.

Morelos who recently committed his long term future with the Light Blues will be also travelling with the national squad for the game against South Korea.
