The 22-year-old, who has fallen down the pecking order for Steven Gerrard this season, got playing time in the last two games.

He scored a goal in the Light Blues’ 3-1 win against Hearts, receiving plaudits from the fans.

Post the win, the Croat said he is hopeful of staying in Glasgow. (h/t One Football)

“I am here and I will give 100 per cent in every training session and every game, so I will keep doing that and wait for the manager to decide what he wants.

“But I am really pleased to be playing for Rangers. It is a massive club and, of course, I want to stay here.”

The center-back added that he is ready to win the Premiership title with the Light Blues next season.

The Croatian U-21 star also expressed his difficulties upon joining the club and added that he has evolved since then.

I think I have improved very much with the ball and can now play in a much cleverer way than I could play when I arrived.

Katic signed for the Gers, prior to this season, from Slaven Belupo. He has made around 15 appearances and scored a goal, which came against the Jambos.

He also made his international debut in 2017 in a 2-1 win against Mexico.

Gerrard would certainly be a happy man with his side winning all of their last three matches.

Jermain Defoe and Scott Arfield played a big role in the Gers’ recent winning run.

Moreover, the Glasgow club has been able to achieve these results even without their marquee players Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.

The Light Blues will go head-to-head with Aberdeen, against whom they suffered a loss in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals, this Sunday.

Gerrard’s men can slightly delay the title celebrations of Celtic if they manage to get past the Dons.
