The 20-year-old progressed through the youth ranks of Celtic and the Light Blues.

Upon joining the Light Blues at the age of 17, Burt was loaned to fellow Scottish clubs Dumbarton and Alloa Athletic.

The Scottish prospect fell down the pecking order of Steven Gerrard this season, owing to the recurring injury issues. Burt mostly spent his time with the reserves.

After the Gers reserves piped out the Hoops in goal differences to lift the reserves league title, Burt took to Twitter to make the announcement.

He thanked all the people who helped him grow at the club.

I would like to say thanks to all the coaches and staff who have helped me throughout my time at Rangers, I have made some amazing memories and very proud to have made my professional debut at Rangers, time to kick on.”

Burt’s destination remains uncertain as of now.

However, Gerrard looks to make full use of the signings he made in the past transfer window.

The Light Blues’ latest acquisition is Motherwell winger Jake Hastie, who will take part in the pre-season camp.

Brimming with confidence and talent, Hastie would be an exciting signing for the Gers’ next season.

The Light Blues are set to play the Old Firm derby this week after winning four matches in a row.
