The Gers extended their winning run on Sunday by defeating the Dons 2-0.

James Tavernier, the Gers right-back, found the scoresheet with a brace, which came from penalties.

There was excellent quality throughout and I thought we were outstanding from start to finish.

He also added that his players were completely organized and didn’t give away any chances.

Gerrard further praised the Dons goalkeeper Joe Lewis for making numerous outstanding saves.

So yes, I am pleased, but it is important we keep pushing until the end. It is important every player – even squad players – realise the next three games are just as important as the ones which have gone before.

Lee Wallace, the veteran full-back came as a substitute and got a huge reception from the fans. The 31-year-old made his 3rd appearance of the season.

Gerrard also had a couple of academy talents in the bench namely Josh McPake and Dapo Mebude.

“They are on their mind and so are a few others in the Academy. I believe in the Academy and if there is an opportunity, the boys have to be on their toes as I won’t be reluctant to put someone out there.”

The Light Blues will face Hibernian in their next game this Sunday and  Gerrard is desperate to finish this season on a high note.
