The Gers broke Celtic hearts in a scintillating Youth-Cup final.

Nathan Young-Coombes, the former Chelsea youngster, scored the winner to seal off the game 3-2. Ciara Dickson and Dapo Mebude were also on the scoresheet.

Gerrard was present in the stands to witness the Light Blues’ young talents.

Speaking ahead of Aberdeen clash, the former Liverpool captain was full of appreciation for the entire team.

He said, (h/t Rangers News UK)

“I thought the team performance last night was magnificent and that’s what impressed me the most,”

I thought from goalkeeper to Young-Coombes up front, every single one of them emptied it out there.

He also added that there are definite plans to introduce the bunch of young talents in the main team.

“there are certainly plans to introduce them and launch them at some point and whether that will be in the final four games, we will have to wait and see.”

Meanwhile, the Light Blues first-team have produced three wins in a row after going through a slight dip in form last month.

Gerrard wants to end his first season at Ibrox on a high note.

The Gers are currently second in the Premiership table, trailing the Hoops by 9 points.
