The 22-year-old has been pivotal for the Light Blues this season, scoring six goals and assisting six as well.

He also scored in the Old Firm Derby last December, which decided the game for the Gers.

The Reds manager expressed his desire on having Kent back at Anfield for next season but so has Gerrard, who was reluctant to let the winger depart.

Kent also shared his opinion on Rangers’ lovely style of football and added that he wants to stay in Glasgow for a long time.

However, this ensuing battle resulted in a hefty price tag of £10m for the Light Blues to keep hold of Kent. (h/t The Daily Record UK)

Gerrard, who recently said that the winger’s future doesn’t rely on his hand, is now set to travel to England for holding talks with the German manager.

Kent also won the Light Blues’ young player of the year award, while also scoring a goal in the Old Firm defeat last month.

However, owing to an altercation with Celtic captain Scott Brown, Kent has now been handed with the two-match ban.

Alfredo Morelos, the star striker for the Gers, is also currently serving his suspension, as a fallout of his assault on Brown, on the very same day.

The Colombian striker is set to return for the derby, which is to be played at Ibrox next month.

After going through a slight dip in form last month, Gerard was able to break his long-running win drought with back-to-back victories.

Jermain Defoe and Scott Arfield were the two stand-outs in the last two outings and the latter, in fact, registered his first career hat-trick.

The Light Blues will be playing Hearts in their next Premiership game.
