Rangers News: Steven Gerrard weighs in on Aberdeen clash, optimistic about Alfredo Morelos’ call-up

Rangers News: Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has said that the Pittodrie Stadium will always leave the losers raging ahead of the clash between the Gers and Aberdeen.

The Light Blues will be heading to Pittodrie Stadium for their Scottish Cup quarter-final encounter with Aberdeen.

In their intense Premiership encounter last month, the Gers were accused of dramatic celebrations in the dressing room following their 4-2 win at Pittodrie.

Later, the Ibrox manager insisted that his side hadn’t done anything wrong.

It was the same game which saw the Light Blues striker Alfredo Morelos being sent off after the altercation with the hosts. Later, the Colombian ended up with a three-match suspension.

Speaking before the game, Gerrard spoke about the dressing room issues (h/t The Daily Record)

“We played them at Ibrox and Hampden and the dressing rooms are miles apart, but I am sure Aberdeen were happy in both those dressing rooms and I am sure they were celebrating.

“The dressing rooms are far apart at Ibrox and Hampden. We can’t control where the dressing rooms are. But I am sure it will come up in their team talk and we have to be ready for that.”

Alfredo Morelos

The former Liverpool star revealed the Colombian head coach has asked for his phone number in order to scout Morelos. (h/t The Daily Record)

“I haven’t heard from Carlos just yet but he asked for my number recently, which I passed on. He is more than welcome to come and watch Alfredo.”

Morelos is in great form for the Gers this season. He is the top scorer of the Scottish Premiership scoring 28 goals across all competitions.

Gerrard later expressed his desire to watch the Colombian in the international stages and added that Morelos really deserves a chance.
