[Image] Predicted 4-3-3 Rangers XI to face Hearts – Can the Gers go top of the table?

Rangers vs Hearts Prediction: Rangers line-up

Rangers played out an eventful 2-2 draw against Feyenoord on Matchday 5 of the UEFA Europa League group stages to take a step closer to knockout qualification, thanks to a headed brace from striker Alfredo Morelos.

Steven Gerrard’s side are now set to turn their attention back to the domestic front and the Gers will be the outright favourites on paper when they play host to Hearts in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.

The Ibrox giants are currently level on points with arch-rivals Celtic on top of the league standings but Gerrard will be wary of the opposition, having dropped points in a 1-1 draw at Tynecastle Park back in October.

Team News

Gerrard is expected to have a fully fit squad at his disposal when Rangers welcome Hearts on Sunday. Jordan Jones was a notable absentee from the Europa League matchday squad but he is very much on the comeback trail and it is only a matter of him regaining match fitness.

Predicted XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Allan McGregor (GK)

The veteran made some outstanding saves to help Rangers secure a draw against Feyenoord on Thursday and he has always been the first-choice for Gerrard in goal.

James Tavernier (RB)

The club-captain made some crucial interventions to thwart the opposition in the Europa League and Rangers will need him to be on top of his game once again at the weekend.

Connor Goldson (CB)

The former Brighton man didn’t look very convincing in the previous game but he is probably one of the first names on the manager’s team sheet.

Filip Helander (CB)

The Swedish international has slowly grown in confidence to establish himself as a regular for Rangers at the heart of the defence and he should retain his place in the eleven on Sunday.

Borna Barisic (LB)

The Croatian once again made a massive difference with a brilliant curling cross for Morelos’ second goal on Thursday and he deserves to keep his place in the side.

Ryan Jack (CDM)

Jack followed up a goal in the 3-1 victory over Hamilton last week with another solid shift in the middle of the park against Feyenoord and there is no reason why he shouldn’t start again on Sunday.

Glen Kamara (LCM)

The Finnish star wasn’t at his best on Thursday but he has evolved into a trusted lieutenant for Gerrard in a box-to-box role in the midfield.

Joe Aribo (RCM)

The Nigerian didn’t start the Europa League fixture, meaning that he should be fresh to play a big part against Hearts on Sunday in place of Steven Davis, who can do with a bit of rest.

Scott Arfield (RW)

The former Burnley star played a cameo against Feyenoord but he deserves to start on Sunday in place on Sheyi Ojo, who has been rather inconsistent.

More Rangers News

Ryan Kent (LW)

The big-money summer signing from Liverpool has overcome his struggles with injuries to put the foot on the accelerator in recent weeks and Rangers will need him to fire on all cylinders once again.

Alfredo Morelos (ST)

The Colombian hitman has already bagged 24 goals in all competitions for the Gers this season and it is hard to see Jermain Defoe start ahead of him following his Europa League heroics on Thursday.
