Real Madrid snapping up this 20-year-old Spanish starlet would be an absolute coup by Zidane

Real Madrid opinion: Should Madrid sign Alberto Soro?

According to a report from Marca, Real Madrid are closing in on signing Real Zaragoza talent Alberto Soro.

The Spanish youngster was chased by arch-rivals Barcelona but now the report adds that Soro is prioritizing a move to  Santiago Bernabeu. It also adds that Soro’s release clause is £9million but the Galacticos would win his signature by just £3m.

Soro – a unique midfield talent

The 20-year-old progressed through the youth ranks of Zaragoza and finally saw himself in the first-team at the start of last season. He has been exceptional since then in La Liga second division, racking up a four-goal tally in the process.

The former Ejea youth product has also earned 2 caps for Spain’s U-18 team till date. Primarily an attacking midfielder, Soro is also synonymous with a winger role on both the flanks.

Soro’s future at Real Madrid

The Galacticos are desperate to return to their former state after suffering a torrid 2018/19 campaign, which in return has forced them to make big money signings including the likes of Eden Hazard and Jovic.

While the search for an attacking midfielder is on the move, it would be too premature to bet on young talents like Soro, who have just played a season in Spain’s second-tier.

With that being said, Soro would be an excellent fit for Madrid’s Castilla. And the precious Spanish talent can make his presence felt sooner by progressing quickly.

Verdict

The Galacticos have already snatched Japanse prodigy Takefusa Kuba, who showed glimpses of his talent in Copa America. The 18-year-old will be part of the reserves set-up from the start of next season. And adding another homegrown talent like Soro would make Madrid’s future a promising one.
