Report: Arsenal Could Sign A Striker Next Week

Arsenal could sign a striker in the next week on a pre-contract deal, which would see the player arrive in the summer for nothing. The player in question is Yaya Sanogo, a 6 ft 3, strong centre-forward who has been impressing since returning from a long term injury. The 20 year-old has scored 7 goals in 2 starts and 2 sub appearances since his return, albeit in Ligue 2 for Auxuerre. If the transfer does go through, the Gunners will have to pay a small amount of training compensation for his services, thought to be around £300,000.

Whilst Arsenal fans were hoping to see some star names like Jovetic next season, the addition of Sanogo would be frowned upon by some. However, the player can be a good addition to the team, a potential unknown talent discovered by the Frenchman, provided if the player fits in at the emirates. It’s a huge gamble by Arsene but an addition of one more quality striker to the armoury will do a world of difference at the start of next season.
In other news, Carlos Vela says he can return to Arsenal for 4million euros.

Carlos Vela has been in impressive form this season, with 12 goals and 6 assists in 25 games for Real Soceidad. The player confirmed to Marca that he can return to Arsenal for just 4 million euros.

Talking to the Spanish media, Vela said:

“For me, of course La Liga is the best for my playing style and my lifestyle. If I can, I will stay a long time in Spain. Yes it (the €4m buy-back fee) is an amount that can be paid… but Real and I are good together, I hope we can find a solution.”

He added: “To be honest I’m a fan of Real Madrid. It’s the team that I like.  All the awards were for (Lionel) Messi, but I like Cristiano’s (Ronaldo) style of play more and I would choose him.

“The Champions League? I want Real Madrid to win it. I get bored watching a football game on TV. In the Champions League I only watch Real Madrid.”

It sounds like he wants to stay, and he’s right. Spanish football is best for him.
