Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham target John Stones has agreed to sign a new deal with Everton.
The 20-year-old, who had an excellent season with the Meresyside club had attracted many clubs from England and Europe, but Stones decided against leaving and have signed a new five year contract worth £30,000 a week. Roberto Martinez has done some shrewd business this summer as he has managed to add Stones in the list of Barkley and Coleman to extend their current contracts, while signing Lukaku and Barry permanently.
Stones was awarded with an International call, thanks to his performances and is certainly one of the top talents across the league.
Arsenal have agreed a £15m fee from Barcelona to sell their club captain Vermaelen and are in the market for another center back. However, Stones ended the speculation over his future by becoming the latest player to commit his future to Goodison Park.
He said ‘I am over the moon. It’s just been such a great last season and to get pen to paper on a new deal is a dream come true.
‘The last 12 months have been so enjoyable thanks to the faith that the manager has shown in me and all the players. What we achieved was unbelievable. It was a very memorable season and hopefully there’s more to come.’
