The former Liverpool manager wants to bring the in-form Colombian striker for a stunning value of £20million.

Morelos’ breakout season with the Light Blues

Morelos, 23, broke into the public’s eye with his phenomenal goal tally of 29 across all competitions in the recently concluded season.

The Light Blues striker was instrumental for his side to finish second in the Scottish Premiership table just sort of their arch-rivals Celtic.

He also enjoyed a decent international break when he was called up for the friendlies against Japan and South Korea.

However, Morelos’ on-field antics proved to be a great setback as he received an awful lot of red cards and suspension spells, which eventually led to his international snub for the upcoming Copa America edition.

Furthermore, the former HJK star also linked with a swarm of European clubs despite signing a contract extension till 2023.

Jermain Defoe, the second choice striker, has shined well in Colombian’s absence but can’t commit to the club’s long term future by citing his age. The former English striker is also bound to his parent club Bournemouth.

Steven Gerrard is closing into sign Greg Stwart from Birmingham but it still remains suspicious whether he could live up to his expectations considering his recent injury struggles.
