Richarlison And Gray To Start – Strongest 3-4-3 Watford Line-Up To Face Chelsea On Saturday

Predicted Watford Line-up To Face Chelsea In The Premier League

Watford will look to continue their dream start when they face off against current Premier League champions Chelsea on Saturday afternoon, at the Stamford Bridge.

The Hornets are off to a flying start to the new campaign. Led by new manager Marco Silva, they find themselves 4th place in the league standings after 8 games. They come into the game on the back of a 2-1 comeback win over Arsenal last weekend and will be hoping to get one over the Blues, who have lost their last two league encounters.

Team News

Silva has to contend with a number of injuries to key personnel, as the likes of Craig Cathcart, Younes Kaboul, Isaac Success all remain unavailable for selection due to injuries. Centre-back Sebastian Prodl is a slight doubt due to a hamstring problem, while Nathaniel Chalobah and Tommy Hoban are the long-term absentees.

Here’s how the Hornets could line up against the West Londoners on Saturday;

Manager: Marco Silva

Formation: 3-4-3

Heurelho Gomes (GK)

The Brazilian stopper was in very good form against the Gunners last weekend and will hope to continue in similar fashion against Chelsea.

Adrian Mariappa (CB)

The former Crystal Palace man has been given a regular run of games in recent weeks by Silva and he has impressed. Should retain his place in the three-man defence.

Christian Kabasele (CB)

The 26-year old is another who has stepped up for the injury hit Watford defence in recent weeks. Should start in the heart of the backline.

Miguel Britos (CB)

The three-pronged backline should be completed by Uruguayan defender Miguel Britos. Needs to keep his discipline and not give into rash decisions.

Kiko Femenia (RWB)

The Spaniard has made the spot on the right-hand side of the defence his own, ahead of Daryl Janmaat. Will be tasked with keeping compatriot Marcos Alonso in check.

Kiko Femenia

Abdoulaye Doucoure (CM)

The French midfielder has established himself as a vital cog in the Watford engine room. He is one of the first names on Silva’s teamsheets week in week out.

Tom Cleverley (CM)

The former Manchester United man was the hero last weekend against Arsenal, scoring the late winner. Should partner Doucoure in the middle of the park.

Jose Holebas (LWB)

At the left wing-back slot, it could be Greek defender Jose Holebas. The 33-year old has featured 7 times in the league this season, grabbing 2 assists. Will be hoping to add another assist or two to his tally.

Andre Carrillo (RW)

On the right flank in Watford’s attack, we expect to see a change in the line-up as Roberto Pereyra could make way for summer signing Andre Carrillo.

Richarlison

Andre Gray (ST)

The 26-year old club-record signing has netted just one goal so far and will be keen on making an impact against the champions on Saturday.

Richarlison (LW)

The young Brazilian has been a sensational piece of business for the Hornets. Having scored thrice and providing two assists, he will be a huge threat in the attacking third.
