Robbie Fowler: Liverpool Lack Depth In the Squad

Liverpool Legend Robbie Fowler praised Brendon Rodgers for his work at Anfield and believes that the club is making a good overall progress. But Fowler is worried about the squad depth and pointed out that Liverpool are still short of two or three more World class players. If Rodgers can add some world class depth to his squad, Liverpool will challenge for trophies again.

Fowler said,

“You look at it all season. Gradually the performances have been better and the consistency is there.”

“On paper the first 11 probably could match Manchester United, Man City and Chelsea but Liverpool’s problem is the lack of depth in the squad.”

“They’ve got a lot of young players and potentially in a few years they could all be magnificent but we all want the success and we want it now, and Liverpool cannot currently compete with the top three yet.”

And asked about his thoughts on the Northern Irish boss.”

“I really rate him as a manager. I think he’s brilliant.”
