Strongest Possible Liverpool Line-up To Face Manchester City In The Premier League
With the ever frustrating summer transfer window ending last month, Liverpool definitely have plenty of positives to take away from it despite failing to sign their top target, Virgil Van Dijk. There was plenty of good business done by the club, with them having brought in the likes of Dominic Solanke, who was impressive in pre-season.
Mohamed Salah could well turn out to be the best piece of business Liverpool have done in the transfer market in recent times.
Other transfers include Andrew Robertson from Hull City and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal. While Robertson already showcased his ability in the game against Crystal Palace last month, Chamberlain joined Reds on the final day of the transfer window and has the potential to be a world-class signing under Klopp. And last, but not the least, Naby Keita. The New Guinea international was signed by the Reds from RB Leipzig but will only be joining them next summer. So he will not be a part of Klopp’s team this season.
However, Liverpool’s greatest victory in the summer window certainly has to be the fact they kept hold of their little magician, Philippe Coutinho. Despite Barcelona offering in excess of £100million for the Brazilian, Liverpool insisted that he was not for sale this summer.
With four brilliant new signings, and Philippe Coutinho remaining at the club, Jurgen Klopp’s squad looks stronger than it has ever been. Liverpool, now have a world class attack.
Last month’s 4-0 annihilation of Arsenal was a prime example of what this Liverpool side is capable of, even without Philippe Coutinho in the mix. With Liverpool taking on Manchester City this weekend, this is how the Reds could line up for the game at the Etihad.
Team News
Liverpool will be missing the services of Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne who are set to be out until at least December. Klopp could pick between Trent Alexander Arnold and Joe Gomez for the right-back role we could possibly see some action from Philippe Coutinho off the bench.
Manager: Jurgen Klopp
Formation: 4-3-3
GK – Simon Mignolet
Despite Loris Karius replacing the Belgian in the game against Arsenal last month, Klopp is likely to bring back Mignolet into the line-up for the City game.
RB – Joe Gomez
The young lad is slowly growing in stature and Klopp could prefer Joe Gomez after his strong defensive show against Arsenal last month.

CB – Joel Matip
Joel Matip has certainly made his mark as the first choice centre-back for the club after consistent performances throughout last season. He kept Alexis Sanchez in his pocket last time in the league and Sergio Aguero could be the next on his list.
CB – Dejan Lovren
What should have been Virgil Van Dijk according to most LFC fans, Lovren will partner Matip in the backline, with Klopp still backing the Croatian.
LB – Andrew Roberson
Alberto Moreno does not make it to Liverpool’s strongest XI as the Reds already have enough attacking flair in their ranks. Robertson seems to be more defensively sound when compared to the Spaniard.
CDM – Jordan Henderson
The England and Liverpool skipper is an integral part of the midfield and has been very strong in his position so far this season.

CM – Georginio Wijnaldum
How can we not have Wijnaldum in the strongest Liverpool line-up when he is fit and available. The Dutchman is a key figure in Klopp’s set-up and could feature against City.
CM – Emre Can
The German midfielder has had an outstanding start to the season and will keep his place in the line-up despite contract extension woes. Emre Can also has an eye for the goal and is one of the best midfielders in the side.
RW – Mohamed Salah
The king of Egypt has already become a favourite at the club, with his mad pace and ability to score goals. Salah could well be the final piece of the puzzle for Liverpool as they look to challenge for the title this season.

LW – Sadio Mane
Sadio Mane could well become Liverpool’s most important player this season. In fact, he could be more integral to the side than Philippe Coutinho. The Senegalese winger is a nightmare for the defenders and a knight in shining armour for Liverpool.
ST – Roberto Firmino
Firmino is the footballing brain of this side. Perhaps the most underrated player in all of Europe, Firmino is not just a striker but is someone who makes things happen for Liverpool on the pitch.
