Roofe to lead the line, Saiz as No.10 – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Leeds United XI to face Aston Villa

Predicted Leeds United Line-up To Face Aston Villa In The EFL Championship

After a dismal defeat at the hands of Preston North End during the week, Leeds United will be hoping to bounce back when they take on Aston Villa on Friday night.

The Whites were beaten 3-1 by Preston on Tuesday night and that saw them slip down to 14th place in the EFL Championship standings. They have just won one game in their last eight fixtures and manager Paul Heckingbottom will be under pressure to turn things around and end the season strongly, with just four more games left to be played.

Probable Leeds United XI

Manager: Paul Heckingbottom

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Bailey Peacock-Farrell (GK)

The academy graduate has been impressive between the sticks since taking over the duties from Felix Wiedwald. A definite starter.

Stuart Dallas (RB)

The Northern Irishman has looked surprisingly steady and solid in an unfamiliar right-back role in recent weeks and will look to put in another strong display.

Hugo Diaz (CB)

The 21-year-old made his first-team debut against Preston by coming on as a substitute for the injured Pontus Jansson and could be in line for his first start, on Friday night.

Kalvin Phillips

Paudie O’Connor (CB)

The 20-year-old centre-half has given a very good account of himself in his first two games for the Whites and will retain his spot in the backline.

Vurnon Anita (LB)

The former Newcastle United man did not have the best of games against Preston but is likely to be given another start ahead of Tom Pearce to add some experience to a young backline.

Ronaldo Vieira (CM)

The 19-year-old midfielder has made 28 appearances in all competitions this term for the Whites. Will look to provide a shield to the back four.

Kalvin Phillips (CM)

The Englishman had some positive moments in the loss to Preston North End during the midweek, getting the assist for Leeds’ goal. Will partner Vieira in the middle, with Adam Forshaw and Eunan O’Kane missing.

Ezgjan Alioski (RW)

The Macedonian winger did not start on Tuesday night at the Deepdale but is in line for a return to the starting XI for the trip to the Villa Park.

Samu Saiz

Samu Saiz (CAM)

The 27-year-old has contributed 9 goals and 9 assists in 34 appearances in all competitions for the Yorkshire-based outfit. Will have an important role to play.

Pablo Hernandez (LW)

The Spanish playmaker is Leeds’ most likely source of creativity in the attacking third. Has scored 9 and set up 10 in 40 games this term.

Kemar Roofe (ST)

Scored his 10th goal of the season against Preston to become the joint-top scorer for the Whites along with Pierre-Michel Lasogga. Will be hoping to get on the scoresheet again on Friday night.
