Rowett to make 2 changes – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Derby County line-up to face Burton

Predicted Derby County Line-up To Face Burton Albion In The EFL Championship

Derby County really need to step up their performances if they wish to continue sitting in those playoff places come the end of the season. They are currently 5th in the table with 68 points to their name but the five teams below them are only one win away from possibly overtaking them.

The manner of the Wolves defeat will be a big blow to their confidence, as they looked nowhere near beating the champions-elect. They will be looking to bounce back against close neighbours Burton.

Probable Derby County XI

Manager: Gary Rowett

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Scott Carson (GK)

There wasn’t much that Carson could’ve done in stopping either of the Wolves’ goals. He has had a decent season for the Rams. An experienced head at the back.

Andre Wisdom (RB)

Wisdom has come back from injury to go straight into the right-back position for Derby. He offers them solidity at the back and can get forward as well.

Andre Wisdom

Curtis Davies (CB)

Davies is a mainstay in the Rams’ back-four and has looked solid in the last few games. The two Wolves goals weren’t really his fault and he’ll be looking for a clean sheet this time.

Alex Pearce (CB)

The 29-year-old came into the Derby team quite recently at centre-back and has performed very well.

Chris Baird (LB)

The experienced left-back offers defensive stability for Derby, even if he doesn’t get forward as much as he once did.

Tom Huddlestone

Joe Ledley (CM)

Ledley has played well since his move to Derby and breaks up the play well in the middle of the park. He has also chipped in with one goal and a couple of assists.

Tom Huddlestone (CM)

Derby fans will be pleased to see Huddlestone back from injury. He didn’t have the best of games against Wolves but he always adds an extra creative outlet in the middle of the park for the Rams.

Matej Vydra (AMC)

Vydra has had an excellent season, scoring 19 goals in total, being the top-scorer in the league. Will be hoping to stay there.

Kasey Palmer

Kasey Palmer (AML)

Kasey Palmer and Tom Lawrence have been battling it out for the left-wing position all season but Lawrence has disappointed recently, which could see Palmer come back in. He has 2 goals and 1 assist in two starts and ten substitute appearances. A run in the side would do him good.

Andreas Weimann (AMR)

Weimann has been one of Derby’s most attack-minded players this season and the 26-year-old has 5 goals and 5 assists in the league this season. Will be looking to maraud down the right once more against Burton.

Cameron Jerome (ST)

David Nugent has not had the best few games as Derby’s lone striker, which could see Cameron Jerome get the nod ahead of him. Jerome has the power and experience but could do with a few more goals for the Rams before the season gets over.
