Rowett to make 3 changes – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Derby County line-up to face Preston North End

Predicted Derby County Line-up To Face Preston North End In The EFL Championship

Derby were on the end of an absolutely disastrous result on Friday, losing to Sunderland who are, without a doubt, one of the worst teams in the league. Although Sunderland played excellently, the manner of the loss will surely have affected Derby, and therefore a good result against Preston North End has become much more important if they are to have a chance of promotion via the playoffs.

The only thing that Derby will be pleased about from the result on Friday is that there were no new injuries to their players, which is good news for a side that has been injury plagued over the last few weeks.

Manager: Gary Rowett

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Scott Carson (GK)

Didn’t have much to do in the Sunderland game apart from picking the ball of the net four times. Will want his defenders to protect him better this time.

Craig Forsyth (LB)

The experienced left-back didn’t disgrace himself as some of the others in the Sunderland game but will want to put in a strong performance today to ensure he is not dropped from the team.

Curtis Davies (CB)

One of the only players to come out of the Sunderland game who can honestly say he put in a decent performance. He may well demand more of the same from himself against Preston.

Chris Baird

Richard Keogh (CB)

Will want to recover from that calamitous own goal against Sunderland. Will look to his defensive partner Davies as an example.

Chris Baird (RB)

The 36-year-old right-back actually had a decent game against Sunderland but will be looking for more from his back-line.

Joe Ledley (CM)

Joe Ledley was on the bench against Sunderland and will be hoping he can change the results of the Derby Squad. The 31-year-old has proved to be a shrewd gamble so far this season for the Rams.

George Thorne (CM)

The defensive midfielder was another player who disappointed against Sunderland. Was caught out of position too many times and didn’t dominate the midfield enough. Will also be looking to pick himself up for this game.

Andreas Weimann (RW)

The tricky winger had a good game against Sunderland and provided a good assist for Matej Vydra. Will be looking for more of the same.

Matej Vydra

Matej Vydra (CAM)

Derby County’s top-scorer this season and the creative hub of the team. He scored against Sunderland despite his overall performance being sub-par, showing how important he is to the team.

Kasey Palmer (LW)

The on-loan Chelsea midfielder has done well for Derby this season and adds a different option for the Rams down the left-hand side. Will be looking to offer something different.

David Nugent (ST)

The experienced English forward will be looking to add to his goal tally this season as he only has four goals to his name so far. He will know he can do better and will hopefully show that for Derby County against Preston.
