Scout Report – Armindo Tué Na Bangna (Bruma)

Armindo Tué Na Bangna Bruma

Background

According to major British media outlet, the Metro, Chelsea are interested in the services of a young, promising Portuguese lad who goes by the name Bruma. The same report has suggested there may be a bid of £12million in the offing from Chelsea for the Galatasaray man who has been dubbed as the next Cristiano Ronaldo (I’d consider him the next Robinho personally). He first exploded onto the scene at Sporting Lisbon during the 2012/13 season, making his first team debut in February of that year having impressed for Sporting B. Since then he has been a regular face amongst the starting eleven for Sporting and has been causing massive problems for oppositions’ defenders.

Style

His goalscoring record for Sporting B was fairly impressive for a player of his ilk, six goals in 25 matches. He appears comfortable playing on either wing, cutting in from the outside and making himself an absolute nightmare to the opposition, though he is predominantly right-footed.

He needs to work on his finishing if hes to become a serious threat, with a number of opportunities being wasted when playing with the Sporting senior squad. However Bruma has demonstrated he can put the ball exactly where it needs to be in terms of passing and last season was involved in some excellent attacking plays. He made eight appearances for the Sporting first team last season, scoring the once.

U20 World Cup

Portugal crashed out of the U20 World Cup in Turkey at the quarterfinals, but Brumas performances for his country are what have really saw himself being thrown into the limelight, scoring an impressive five goals and two assists in just three appearances.

What next?

Whether or not he is the ‘next Ronaldo’ is a question that will probably float around football media for the upcoming few years. Much like Cristiano on his arrival at Old Trafford, Bruma is a small and skinny lad, he’s only 18 and clearly has power and speed on his side that was vital for Ronaldo’s development.

I’ve a feeling we’ll hear more about Bruma as time goes by.

But, don’t just take my word for it. Have a little watch of this YouTube video showcasing his talents:
